How to download and burn Free DVD Boot for PS2
Free DVD Boot lets you launch homebrew software like Open PS2 Loader directly from a burned disc by exploiting a vulnerability in the PS2 DVD Player utility. No hardware modifications needed — just a blank DVD-R and a PC.

Steps
Check your PS2 firmware version
On your PS2 dashboard, go to Browser → DVD Player. The version number appears in the bottom-right corner of the screen. You need 3.10 or 3.11 for this exploit to work.
Download the Free DVD Boot ISO
Get the ISO from a trusted source — the PS2-home.com forum or its official GitHub repository are the safest options. After downloading, verify the file integrity using the provided MD5 or SHA1 checksum to rule out corruption.
Burn the ISO to a DVD-R disc
Open ImgBurn (free) and select Write image file to disc. Load the ISO, then set the burn speed to the lowest available — ideally 1x or 4x. Use a quality disc brand like Verbatim for the most reliable results. Avoid DVD+R.
Boot the disc on your PS2
With the console off, insert the burned disc. Power on — the PS2 will automatically detect and boot the Free DVD Boot menu. From there you can launch Open PS2 Loader or any other homebrew you have ready.
